Social Media Etiquette -Ari C

Here is my VoiceThread analysis:  https://voicethread.com/myvoice/thread/31962485     I am analyzing Ally Law, a UK based Youtuber known best for his risky parkour, climbing, and overnight challenges. Due to the nature of his content, Law is infamous for intense police interactions and crazy getaways (during the night). This unfortunately accumulated claims against him, in which the corporations owning the buildings he climbed created a criminal case. Arrests, fees, and bans, Law continued to post his daring stunts.     In 2017, after a risky climb of the Stealth coaster at Thorpe Park, Law began a relationship with the Law (no pun intended) and became infamous on police radar for trespassing. After entering a TV studio as well, Law and his brand were continuously banned from almost 200 places due to his content filming. The intensity of his posting, the use of location, and the lack of permission ended him up with a large criminal claim against him and hi...

Smackdown: Bad Website vs Good Website

By:  Mr. Ari Cecilia               Bad vs. Good Website Design      I chose to cover two sports sites for this week's Smackdown Assignment. What stood out to me the most about the Live binders article, on this website-building topic, was the study of the 4 Principles of a great website that Widmer explains:  " Purpose.  Great design starts with a purpose in mind. Ask yourself, “What do I want to accomplish with this page?” If a page doesn’t have a clear purpose, consider getting rid of it. Aesthetically pleasing.  I’ll dig more into this in section one on visual design, but your site needs to look good. If your site looks like it was built in the 90’s, it’s time for an update. Relevant and original content.  Your site should show content that’s relevant to your target market and original. Plagiarism is illegal and penalized by Google. Besides, it’s better to be a first-rate version of yoursel...

Technology Blog #4: Building a Collaborative Culture

Image
Mr. Ari Cecilia                                                                                Collaboration         In the chapter, Building a Collaborative Culture , it is stated that "connected learners have to work harder to establish trust. In face-to-face interaction, we get to know people over time through causal interactions...we upload pictures, type stories..."(Nussbaum-Bach, p.63). The author is juxtaposing real life team building with online collaboration, faulting superficial behavior in digital connection. In order to build a true culture of transparent collaboration, efficient in creation, digital connection has to feel authentic and personable. Smackdown 2: Google Slides

This is my Smackdown video about Google Slides:     I created a video demonstration on how to utilize google slides when creating a project. I utilize google slides both in my academic and personal life, especially for school projects. Through the many digital design courses I have taken, I have found that the hidden design features of this platform are almost at par with the likes of adobe illustrator and photoshop. My favorite part of google slides is the image search and object editing, that allows you to present topics with imagery and easy effects.           For my future career of Digital Marketing, I will most likely utilize google slides to present my clientele with their marketing/ad drafts and write ups, or even design overviews. I am currently in System Analysis, and working as a pre-professional data analyst, I was tasked recently with creating a google slide to give an overview of the Tech company we are creating a system for. I also ...

Smackdown 1: handshake

By: Ari C App review video below          Handshake is a student-centered career networking app that allows you to connect with like-minded peers in both the education and careers field. An organized algorithm curates a feed for you to view career updates from your specific institution, favored organizations, or even peers around the country. Similar to LinkedIn and Indeed, Handshake is an applicant friendly app, and includes a listing page in which you can save job listings from key employers and apply with an online resume through the app. Employers can then use your platform (profile and postings) to view your professional and education achievements and connections, expanding your network.            This app is  tailored for the needs of both pre- and post grads, as it connects student-learners with employers and internships looking for starting-level associates. As a Senior at Stockton, I am joining the ranks o...
